This site was created in 2017 as a resource for educators to connect with on-the-ground practitioners across education in Australia. The creator, Raegina (MEd, BA/BEd Sec), has worked as a secondary English, Japanese and Drama teacher in the ACT and Japan, and generalist secondary educator in remote single-teacher schools. She has lectured at universities and has a certificate IV in training and assessment.

Raegina kept a blog through most of her teaching career and found the online community to help her consider new ways of approaching learning. However most of these connections were ad-hoc and often teachers blogging felt isolated in trying to share their knowledge.

Australian Education Blogs brings together Australian educator blogs and features daily posts from those listed in the index as well as an original weekly article.
